Pivotal Parenting Support, LLC ("Pivotal Parenting," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of families who use our website and subscription box services (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data.

 

Because our Services are designed for families supporting children with neurodevelopmental differences — including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) — we take privacy with the utmost seriousness. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) where applicable, and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) where applicable.

1. Who This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • Parents, guardians, and caregivers who create accounts and purchase subscriptions ("Account Holders");

  • Children whose developmental information may be shared by their parents or guardians to personalize our Services ("Child Users"); and

  • Visitors to our website at www.pivotalparenting.com ("Visitors").

 

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. All account creation, data submission, and subscription management must be performed by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old.

 

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account, subscribe, or interact with our platform, we may collect:

3. Special Categories of Sensitive Information

3.1 Children's Information (COPPA)

We do not collect personal information directly from children under 13. Parents and guardians provide child information on behalf of their child. If you are a parent or guardian, you consent to the collection and use of your child's information as described in this policy when you create an account and use our Services.

 

You have the right at any time to:

  • Review the personal information we have collected about your child;

  • Request deletion of your child's information;

  • Refuse to permit further collection of your child's information by contacting us at privacy@pivotalparenting.com.

3.2 Health-Related Information (HIPAA Notice)

Pivotal Parenting is a consumer products and services company and is not itself a covered healthcare entity under HIPAA. However, some of the information you share — such as diagnoses, therapy goals, and evaluation reports — is health-related and is treated with the highest level of care and security.

 

If you are also a patient or family of our affiliated clinical practice, Innovate Therapies, any protected health information (PHI) handled in that clinical context is governed separately by Innovate Therapies' HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. Please contact Innovate Therapies directly for clinical privacy inquiries.

 

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Fulfill and ship your subscription orders;

  • Personalize the products and activity guides in your monthly box;

  • Process payments and prevent fraud;

  • Communicate with you about your account, orders, and new features;

  • Send marketing communications, if you have opted in (you may opt out at any time);

  • Improve our products, platform, and user experience;

  • Comply with legal obligations;

  • Conduct research and analytics in de-identified or aggregated form only.

 

We will not use your information — or your child's information — for purposes that are incompatible with the purposes for which it was collected without obtaining your separate consent.

 

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information or your child's personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

5.1 Service Providers

We share data with vendors who help us operate our business, including payment processors, fulfillment and shipping partners, cloud hosting providers, email service providers, and analytics platforms. All service providers are contractually required to use your data only to provide services to us and to maintain appropriate security measures.

5.2 Clinical Affiliate

If you are also a patient family of Innovate Therapies and have provided separate authorization, we may share limited subscription-relevant information with your child's treatment team to support care coordination. This sharing requires your explicit, written consent.

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person, prevent fraud, or protect our legal rights.

5.4 Business Transfers

If Pivotal Parenting is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, we will notify you before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

 

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in to your account;

  • Remember your preferences;

  • Analyze how visitors use our website;

  • Deliver relevant marketing communications (only if you have opted in).

 

You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Disabling certain cookies may limit functionality. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals from browsers at this time, but we do honor opt-out requests submitted through our Privacy Settings page.

 

We do not use behavioral advertising cookies for children or for data derived from your child's profile.

 

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our Services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Upon a verified deletion request, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except for information we are required to retain for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

  • AES-256 encryption for sensitive data stored at rest;

  • Role-based access controls limiting employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis;

No method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you;

  • Request deletion of your account and data.
